
Celebrating 50 Years of Deadly
Goolum Goolum is proud to host a week of NAIDOC celebrations in partnership with Barengi Gadjin Land Council.
Join us from Monday 6 July to Friday 10 July 2026 for a series of community events celebrating Culture, connection, family, Elders, young people, creativity and community.
Transport is available throughout the week. Please register for each event you would like to attend to help with catering and transport arrangements.
Monday 6 July
Opening Ceremony & Flag Raising
Join Goolum Goolum and BGLC as we open NAIDOC Week 2026 with a community flag raising and opening ceremony.
This event will include Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony, Flag Raising, Traditional Dance and Music, yarning, connection, food share and reflection.
Tuesday 7 July
Cultural Day with BGLC
Enjoy a family day of connecting to Culture and Community with BGLC’s Fifty Years of Deadly Cultural Day.
This day is for First Nations people, family and kin, with a BBQ lunch and a range of cultural workshops and experiences, including Dance, Language and other activities.
Wednesday 8 July
Art Exhibition Opening & Bunjil’s View 3 Premiere
Celebrate the opening of Goolum Goolum’s annual NAIDOC Week Art Exhibition, showcasing artwork created by local Community.
The evening will also include the premiere of Bunjil’s View 3: Unfinished Business, the final instalment in the Bunjil’s View film series.
Time: 5:00pm – 7:30pm (presentation starts 5:30pm)

Thursday 9 July
Elders & Youth Luncheon with BGLC
BGLC invites Elders to enjoy a complimentary lunch in celebration of their important role in Community, Culture and identity.
Elders are also invited to bring a young person to share the day, acknowledging the next generation of leaders and the importance of supporting young people to grow up strong and proud.

Stawell Closing Ceremony
Join Goolum Goolum and BGLC for the Stawell Family Day and Closing Ceremony as we come together to close out NAIDOC Week celebrations.
This event will include Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony, Flag Raising, Traditional Dance and Music, yarning, connection, food share and reflection.
Friday 10 July
Family Cabaret Evening with BGLC
Join BGLC for their annual NAIDOC Week Family Cabaret Evening and celebrate 50 Years of Deadly.
There will be food, drinks, dancing, games and entertainment for all ages — a chance for mob to come together and celebrate in style.
Time: 5:00pm – 12:00am
